#99 Musings Beyond the Bunker (Sunday July 25)
Good morning!
HOUSEKEEPING AND THANKS
As I approach the 100th Musing Beyond the Bunker (and the 500th Musing since this project began March 14, 2020), I’ve decided some things:
Beginning after the 100th Musing Beyond the Bunker, there will be no Sunday Musing. The Saturday Musing, typically dedicated to music and poetry, will be (to borrow a phrase from NPR), the “Weekend Edition.”
Tuesdays will continue to be “quickies” and Thursdays typically will be populated by feedback.
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will continue to address more meaty and topical issues.
It’s always worth a pause to thank you for participating in this experiment of community building, trying to chart a “reasonable course” on important issues, and sharing the daily musings of a friend (and his friends) who is trying to make sense of the world—through history, politics, sports, books, movies, philosophy, travel, and just generally observing stuff about the world and our times.
As I’ve said many times, I write because things I think these things need to be said. I think much of it is what you would write if you sat down to do it. I’m just the nutty guy willing to “lay it all out there.” There is a place for calm discussion of reasonable positions on myriad issues. It’s not as complicated as the ideologues, pundits and politicians might want us to believe.
I appreciate your time and promise more musings for the foreseeable future!
Have a great day,
Glenn
