Good morning,
Happy New Year!
There is really nothing very special about a new year. It’s merely the movement from one arbitrarily delineated year to another. Its value is in marking the passage of time. And time marches on. As the years mount, it sure seems like they go by more quickly all the time.
I don’t have much to muse about today, any more than any other day. In the coming year I am focused on some notions that you might also share…
Enjoy life
Try to be better at doing something
Recognize and appreciate natural beauty, artistic matters, and individual accomplishment
Be less judgmental
Experience and articulate gratitude
Try to improve the world in some small way
Support and mentor others
Increase conection with others (and I DON’T mean in cyberspace)
Be there for family and friends
I look forward to other momentous things this year…
Lauren’s graduation from Berkeley Law School and Haas Business School
Jake’s graduation from UCSF Medical School
Jake and Emma’s wedding
And all the simple things in life—companionship, travel, golf, skiing, good food, a good bottle of wine, USC football, the occasional poker game, baseball, books, and just hanging with Andrea and family, and the health to appreciate them
Wishing you a wonderful new year, and hoping you share reasons to celebrate all matter of things, great and small,
Glenn
Amazing accomplishments by Jake and Lauren (and their parents). Happy New Year.
All the Best
