Good morning, TRUMP’S AUTHORITARIANISM I mentioned last week that Trump is an authoritarian. A conservative friend called me to task, replying with: “What’s your definition of Authoritarianism? Seems to me someone who lower taxes and reduces the size of government is a liberator from tyranny. If you are truly concerned about Authoritarianism, maybe should take a hard look at the polices of the Democratic Party. Upon doing so you might be enlightened to best understand why so many people continue to support Trump not withstanding all of his shortcomings.”
It is difficult for me to continue to read your political posts (which is almost daily), considering your utter disinterest in steal-manning the opposing views you are criticizing. While I understand your analysis of Linz's qualities of authoritarianism as describing many of Trump's actions and leanings, if you honestly cannot understand how that analysis also applies to the Biden administration, you are being as "actively ignorant" as you accused others of being just 2 days ago.
