#59 Musings Beyond the Bunker (Tuesday June 15)
Good morning!
I have been writing these daily missives for over 450 days now. I have been keeping it going in the belief that there was something to be said for the consistency of being there—every day—in my friends’ inboxes.
But then I began thinking of Ralph Waldo Emerson’s quote:
“Foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.”
Or as Oscar Wilde once said,
“Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.”
And that got me thinking that the point’s been made. I have proven myself mad/obsessive/craving of attention (pick one or more of the foregoing or substitute your own descriptor) enough already. Fifteen months without interruption has been a long enough haul. So with this, I no longer can promise this will go on every day (although, who knows?).
I am going to keep Tuesdays and Thursdays as short trifles, with the heavier lifting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (with Saturday music and poetry and Sunday grab-bag).
LOOKING FOR YOUR COMMENTS
Please respond to anything I write when you have something to add, correct or complain. Just don’t call me unimaginative or “of little mind…”
Have a great day,
Glenn
