#500 Musings Beyond the Bunker (Friday November 4)
Good morning,
ANOTHER MILESTONE
Today marks the 500th edition of Musings Beyond the Bunker. This comes on the heels of 400 editions of Musings From the Bunker, which began March 14, 2020. Even I’m surprised at the sheer volume of material…and I’m not done yet!
Thank you all for your continued readership, providing insightful comments, suggesting interesting subjects, engaging in polite disagreement, and pointing out my errors. You have all enriched my life.
I enjoy doing this because I think we need to continue to communicate and engage with each other in fraught times that pose many challenges. I’m not always right—and certainly do not profess to be the smartest or most perceptive (there is, after all, nothing new under the sun), but I hope I am articulating issues in different ways and providing rational reasoning for more logical, nuanced and sensitive ways forward.
If nothing else, we’re able to share movie and book recommendations, favorite music, newly discovered poetry, the pain of perennial losing sports teams, and this journey of life together.
INSPIRATION
“I was so much older then; I’m younger than that now.” –Bob Dylan
“Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does. It is up to you to give [life] a meaning.” ― Jean-Paul Sartre
“As often as you can, take a trip out to the fields to pray. All the grasses will join you…” –Rabbi Nachman of Breslov
Have a great day,
Glenn
