#205 Musings Beyond the Bunker (Thursday November 25)
Happy Thanksgiving!
We sometimes forget the meaning of this holiday—about giving thanks.
It has been shown that gratitude is an important part of finding happiness. A few thoughts on this subject:
“This is a wonderful day; I have never seen this one before.”
--Maya Angelou
“I woke up this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and the new.”
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
“For my part I am almost contented just now, and very thankful. Gratitude is a divine emotion; it fills the heart but not to bursting; it warms it but not forever.”
--Charlotte Bronte
“Gratitude is riches; complaint is poverty.”
--Doris Day
I am grateful for so much—my wife, my children, my parents, my grandparents, my cousins, nieces and nephews. my teachers, my mentors, my colleagues, my friends, my in-laws, my classmates, my work, for being born in this country in this era, for my heritage, my religion and its traditions and learning, for the values I have been taught, for authors of the many books I have consumed, for the natural beauties of the world, and my fellow travelers in this wondrous adventure called life.
I am grateful for my friends and for each of you joining me on this crazy project of the “Musings.” Thank you!
Glenn
