#133 Musings Beyond the Bunker (Thursday September 2)
Good morning!
Today is my birthday, so I’m giving myself a bit of a holiday and will keep it short.
I’ve always considered a September birthday to be a blessing. Everything feels new, fresh and full of promise and new beginnings. It’s the end of the Summer, the onset of cooler evenings, and the time to start planning for the new “academic year.” It also is an indication that the High Holy Days are coming and an annual accounting for one’s decisions and actions in the past year and the chance to reset for the new year.
It is at times like these that it’s important to recognize the great gifts we all possess. Gratitude is an important exercise that helps ground oneself and face the future. I am blessed in my personal life, with my family, with my friends, with my business and non-profit pursuits, and so much more. Lucky to be born where I was and when I was. And while there is much for which I’m grateful, there is much about which I worry. If I felt prayer worked, I’d pray for our the health of planet, for the triumph of reason over fear, and for our democracy…
Thanks for putting up with me and my many musings over these past 533 editions! I try to be fair, reasonable and balanced. I’m sorry for any offense, but they remain my mental meanderings and opinions, unfiltered, unedited, and unapologetic.
Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful Labor Day week and beginning of the 2021-22 “school year” (even for those without kids in school!).
Have a great day,
Glenn
