I absolutely must add two to your list! Holiday Inn is a family favorite and actually commemorates the year that congress officially moved Thanksgiving to the last week of November.
But the one that has become a family tradition is Klaus. Nominated for an Oscar for Animated Feature in 2020 (and on Netflix, starring the voice of fellow Jew Jason Schwarzman), it weaves a clever and lovely tale that at first appears to be a Hatfield and McCoy story but ultimately surprises us with how the legend of Santa Claus may have been born. It was the perfect balm for the spirit in that troubled year and is charming and wonderful. While it didn’t win the Oscar, it deserved the nomination and a yearly rewatch alongside Die Hard.
